We sat down with our friend and roommate, Aslam Anver, to discuss Sri Lanka’s culture, the tourism industry in the South coast, and how he followed his passion for music and great parties to help create Tropical Wax: a collective celebrating vinyl culture, underground music, art, and surfing on this beautiful island.

Aslam, a Sri Lankan native, grew up in the Galle Fort—a UNESCO heritage site, and the world’s only living fort. He is the manager of Hajime Sushi in Unawatuna, an avid surfer, and a tasteful Selector of Music.

Special thanks to Aslam for joining us as our first guest! We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we enjoyed recording it. Thanks for listening!
